Class Description: Phase 4 class on Spine & Shoulders provides an overview of the basic release techniques and anatomy for the spine and shoulders, through the lens of the principles of Ortho-Bionomy. This foundation class covers the history, philosophy and concepts of Ortho-Bionomy and provides an overview of the basic release techniques and anatomy for each major joint in the spine and shoulders. Movements and positions of comfort are facilitate the release of muscular tension and overall stress by stimulating the inherent, self-corrective reflexes of the body which help the body create structural alignment and balance from within.

Class Description: Why work with the equine spine? Bring relief to the spine and the rest of the body will change. This class is for the owner & horse professional who seeks some tools for maintaining their own horses’ health and/or sustainable ways to assist in the healing of horses. Equine Body Balance balances the horse’s systems and allows for better overall functionality. Equine Body Balance™ is non-force, based on the finding that the body will shift toward greater health and functionality if “met” where it is. This bodywork modality - Equine Ortho-Bionomy™ - is deeply effective in diminishing pain and engaging the body’s innate self-corrective response. Class Content: This material is not a substitute for veterinary care. Assessment: Observing the horse, its gait, movement patterns, and gestures. Feeling tissue differences: Sinewy, swollen, tissue with bounce-back, hard. Techniques: Attention to spinal articulation, lifting legs in position of comfort, addressing trigger points & more. Responses: Observing the horse’s reflexive action and other responses to techniques. Where: RMR Ranch, St. Anthony Ranch, Idaho Cost: $375 Early Bird (August 26, 2019) $425 thereafter. When: Saturday­ & Sunday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. September 28-29 Earn 16 Phase 4 elective Ortho-Bionomy CEs with class completion.
