Start Date: 5/16/2020
End Date: 5/17/2020
Location: Bozeman
State/Country: MT
Class Description: This uniquely designed class integrates instruction on Ortho-Bionomy fundamentals of working with the Spine and Pelvis, with learning to recognize and affect postural habits through techniques to work with spinal curvatures and scoliosis to bring the body toward balance and appropriate self-care to enable the client to maintain these changes between sessions. Also in this class you will observe and practiced techniques for releasing specific imbalances in the neck, thoracic spine and rib cage, lumbar spine, pelvic girdle and sacrum. These techniques result in the release of pain and neuro-muscular tension patterns and promote an expanded range of motion, increased circulation and a greater sense of well-being.

Subtitle: Working with the Vagus Nerve
Instructor Name: Lynne Marotta
Start Date: 4/3/2020
End Date: 4/3/2020
Location: Madison
State/Country: WI
Class Description: The Vagus nerve (CN X) is named after the Latin word for wandering as it begins in our cranium and travels through our body weaving and branching to many organs and systems, ending with our digestive system. In this class you will learn the basic anatomy and physiology of the wide reaching effects of this nerve. Participants will learn to recognize symptoms of an active vagal state, and will learn to address this nerve in a simple, gentle, and respectful way. Each student will develop skills to locate, sense and calm this nerve in the spine, costal-chondral joints, and neck. Self care for the vagus nerve will be demonstrated and practiced.

Subtitle:
Instructor Name: Lynne Marotta
Start Date: 4/4/2020
End Date: 4/5/2020
Location: Madison
State/Country: WI
Class Description: The focus of Phase Five is to move to a more subtle level of awareness of the practice and principle of Ortho-Bionomy. Specific techniques develop and increase the student's understanding and proprioceptive sensitivity to the self-corrective movements initiated by the client. Through the practice of observing, following and supporting subtle movement patterns, muscular tension is released, range of motion is increased and pain is reduced. In Phase Five, students are encouraged to do less and let the client be the guide for his/her exploration of change.
