Isometric and Isotonics:

Shaney Rockefeller

Delta, British Columbia, Canada

Using Isometric and Isotonic resistance techniques encourages mobility and helps releases happen more readily in the body. By enlisting the participation of a client, these techniques can assist the self-correction of postural imbalances and chronic tension patterns.

These techniques consist of slight restraint against a gently engaged muscle followed by the completion of the movement. As a practitioner, you can facilitate relaxing tense muscle patterns while encouraging toning of other muscles.

In this class, participants learn how the use of gentle resistance exercises with the client can help promote change from rigid patterns in the muscles and joints to greater mobility.
