Connecting with Gut Knowingness: The Brilliance of the Enteric Nervous System

Jessica Mark

Santa Fe, NM

The enteric nervous system, or gut brain, is a vast network of neurons and glia that controls the gastrointestinal functions on a physiological level and is the body’s truth detector on the energetic level.

When the organs of our enteric nervous system are able to communicate with ease, there is resonance and vitality. When the gut is offline, feelings of safety and comfort may be difficult to find. In this course we will:

Learn basic anatomy and physiology of the enteric nervous system

Practice explorations of self care to facilitate awareness and communication in the gut

Learn about intestinofugal neurons and how they increase the reflexive capacity of the gut

Practice Ortho-Bionomy® techniques and principles to work with various areas of the enteric nervous system

Explore the relationship of the microbiome to the enteric nervous system
